Hiking tour of the French Alps: epic trails from lake to sea

Discover the Alps, one breathtaking view at a time

The Alps invite you on a spectacular journey between Lake Geneva and Menton. Hiking the Tour of the French Alps, also known as the Grande Traversée des Alpes, is a true epic across peaks and valleys, drawing you into the very heart of the mountains. The route follows the contours of the Swiss and Italian borders, crossing five French departments and a mosaic of breathtaking landscapes.

From the ridges of Chablais and Haut Giffre, through the legendary Aiguilles Rouges and the glacial giants of Mont Blanc, each stage feels like a journey of its own. Further along, the gentle crests of the Beaufortain, the wild grandeur of the Vanoise, and the snow-capped peaks of the Thabor gradually unfold, full of contrasts. But that is not all. The Queyras, with its preserved villages, the mysterious Val Maira valley, and the authentic Ubaye captivate with their discreet charm. Finally, the Mercantour and the Merveilles Valley, true natural treasures, reveal their ancient secrets carved into stone.

This trek is much more than just a hike. It is an invitation to explore, to discover a mosaic of landscapes, cultures, and emotions.
