Day by day program
Day 1 : Flight to Tenerife - Ferry to La Gomera island
Depending on your flight schedule and the ferry departure time to La Gomera, your first night will be spent either on La Gomera in San Sebastian or on Tenerife near Los Cristianos.

Day 2 : Mirador de los Barranquillos and Vallehermoso
The western part of La Gomera is full of charm, with gentle valleys, palm groves, terraced fields, picturesque villages, and the dramatic barrancos typical of the island.
On the program:
- Arure to the Mirador de los Barranquillos - easy hike
A lovely loop through the Arure valley, marked by meadows, palm trees, and terraced fields, leading up to viewpoints perched on the steep slopes overlooking the Alojera valley.
Approx. 2h - 6,9 km - elevation gain/loss: 170 m.
- From Vallehermoso to Cumbre de Chijer - moderate hike
The trail climbs from the lush valley of Vallehermoso to the Teselinde massif, then follows the Chijeré ridge, offering impressive views over the island’s northwest tip, especially the Roque de los Órganos.
Approx. 5h - 13.7 km - elevation gain/loss: 734 m.

Day 3 : Exploring the island's heart and Garajonay National Park
- From Bosque del Cedro to Hermigue
A spectacular descent through laurel forest and along the Cedro stream. This hike showcases the best of Garajonay: the peaceful forest, lush streamside vegetation, sweeping views over Hermigua and Mount Teide, and, as a finale, the island’s highest waterfall.
Approx. 3h20 - 8.8 km - descent: 1112 m.
- From Chipude to Garajonay National Park
A pleasant hike in the island’s center, leading to its highest point (1,487 m) through varied landscapes: traditional villages, lush laurel forests, and open meadows. At the summit, you’re rewarded with panoramic views across the entire island.
Approx. 4h - 12.3 km - elevation gain/loss: 407 m.

Day 4 : Valle del Gran Rey
Day 5 : Barranco de Guarimiar
Today’s route takes you into one of La Gomera’s most stunning trails. Starting right inside the narrow, steep gorge, the path then unfolds across arid landscapes dotted with palm trees and traditional terraced fields. An exceptional hike in the heart of wild scenery.
Day 6 : Hike on La Gomera island - Ferry crossing to Tenerife
After your hike, head to the port of San Sebastián for the ferry ride to Los Cristianos (about 1 hour).
Day 7 : Ascent of Mount Teide
On the program today:
- From Pico del Teide down to the Parador via Pico Viejo
After reaching the summit by cable car (approx. €23 to book on site) and enjoying breathtaking views over the island, you begin a long descent through fascinating and colorful volcanic landscapes. The trail continues across lava fields until you reach the Parador Nacional. It’s a long hike but incredibly rich in panoramas and unique geological formations.
- From the Parador to Guajara
From the Parador, you also have the option of a
shorter hike up to Guajara (2,718 m), one of Tenerife’s highest
peaks. This route offers equally stunning views over Teide National
Park and the neighboring islands. The path crosses arid, almost
lunar volcanic terrain with impressive rock
formations.
Alternative: approx. 4 hrs - 10 km - D+/- 600 m.
Day 8 : Punta del Hidalgo and Batan de Abajo
From the rocky coastline, this circular hike winds through varied landscapes towards the idyllic high valleys of Bejia and Batan, continuing up to the lush Anaga mountains. It offers breathtaking views over the ocean and valleys, while crossing laurel and fern forests typical of the subtropical environment of Anaga. This is a demanding route with steep ascents and descents, best suited for experienced hikers in search of wild nature and authenticity.
Day 9 : El Palmar and Teno Alto - Teno Massif
Day 10 : Tamaimo and the Gigantes
This spectacular trek takes you through the rugged landscapes of the Teno Massif. The trail descends through deep ravines, offering breathtaking views of the towering cliffs of Los Gigantes and the Atlantic Ocean, 100 meters above the coastline.
